Welcome to Philoi, the first person-to-person
link sharing community!
BACKGROUND
Philoi (the greek word for 'friends') began as a personal volunteer project to help manage an increasingly
complex online world of friends and links. Over time (and with the help of many volunteers
and good friends) Philoi has developed into a bookmark sharing community where users
can easily exchange links with others within a community they trust.
THE COMMUNITY
The style of the website has been described by users as a ‘simple but powerful’
way to share your links of common interest with your friends. You initially share a link with
a friend (either via the Philoi website or using a Philo
Toolbar) who then receives an email to approve this link. Once the link
is approved, both friends are able to share:

public links between themselves that can be viewed by entire community

private links that can only be viewed by the two users
By sharing links you are able to build your own personal community of friends and
links to help you find and share your interests with others.
PRIVACY AND TRUST
Please keep in mind that our primary concern is serving you well by preserving
your privacy and trust. For example, any link you create can be marked private at
any time so that only you and intended recipient can see it. In addition, your email address is kept private. No spamming here!
